Instagram can be very useful at times to artistically portray various mundane sceneries. This is an attempt to do the very same, using the medium to ironically portray it's overuse in social media. |

Today was a chicken kind of day, so I figured I'd dare have the chicken whiskey river combo with an order of sweet potato fries and a mint oreo milkshake just in time for Christmas.
I figured I needed a reward from my extensive work term productively updating my Twitter account as I work vigorously through each day.
Enough about me. The sandwich had just the right amount of fried onion straws to contrast the sandwich as its flavours melt in your mouth. Although I did miss the taste of the ever so famous Whiskey River sauce that the sandwich is ever-so-famously named after.
The milkshake was an excellent pairing although I was disappointed to discover that it didn't come with an aluminum of extra shake that many restaurants do offer. However, I was gladly greeted with an endless supply of freshly fried sweet potatoes.
As this blog progresses I intend to elaborate more aspects of each experience so I thought I'd include a score card so that I can add more as we continue on this tour.
taste: 3.3 / 5.0
texture: 5.0 / 5.0
pairings: 3.5 / 5.0
crumble-less factor: 4.7 / 5.0
onion-ratio: 4.1 / 5.0
total score: 20.6 / 25.0 A-

What could I have possibly needed more than this RR visit
amidst my hectic final exam schedule?! Once again like so many times before,
the Whiskey River Burger to the rescue! Today’s visit was to the Red Robbins at
200-1001 Broadway Street in Vancouver. This was not our first visit to this
location, so we had an idea of what we were getting ourselves into.
I was pleasantly surprised with my burger compared to the
last time I had visited this restaurant. The BBQ sauce-onion
straws-cheese-lettuce-mayo-tomato ratio was near perfect. Although the veggie
patty was slightly over cooked and consequently dry, the magical qualities of
the BBQ sauce aided in masking this boo-boo.
I’m not sure if this burger tasted extra good because of all
the built up stress I had been harboring from the whole school semester or if
it was just an extraordinarily delectable sandwich, but it earned itself an
overall score of 9.5/10

The classic Whiskey River® beef burger with all the fixings |

Adding a veggie patty to this fine specimen can turn any meat-lover into a full-fledge vegetarian |
Wonderful. Scrumptious. Toothsome. Like most Whiskey River burgers I’ve had in my day, this was no exception to the usually deliciousness the sandwich normally delivers. As seen in the picture, the burger was put together well with a plentiful bounty of cheese. Although a prodigious amount of cheese is normally welcomed, I found it to be a little overbearing and took away from the burger and onion straws. What brought it all back was the Whiskey River BBQ sauce. As usual, the combination of the BBQ sauce and crispy onion straws make the burger the legend that it is.
